Armed Forces Remembrance Day: Hon. Abubakar Momoh joins national leaders to honour Nigeria’s fallen heroes

The Minister of Regional Development, Engr. Abubakar Momoh FNSE, joined Nigeria’s top leadership in Abuja for the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony, a solemn gathering dedicated to honouring the nation’s fallen heroes.

The Vice President presided over the event, with the Senate President, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, service chiefs and diplomats all in attendance. The atmosphere was dignified as wreaths were laid in memory of the brave men and women who paid the ultimate price defending the country.

Engr. Momoh described the ceremony as a powerful reminder of the sacrifices that safeguard Nigeria’s unity and peace. He stressed the need for continuous support for the families of fallen officers and stronger regional development to reinforce national stability.

“We honour our fallen heroes whose courage and sacrifice protect our unity and freedom. As we remember them, we recommit ourselves to building stronger communities and supporting the families they left behind. Their bravery continues to guide our path as a nation,” he said.

The event reinforced a shared national commitment to peace, security and the enduring legacy of Nigeria’s armed forces.
