Advancing Inclusive Growth: Reflections on the National Economic Council Conference(Photos)- Abubakar Momoh
The National Economic Council Conference, held at the Banquet Hall of the State House, Abuja, and formally declared open by His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, offered a vital platform for reflection, alignment, and renewed national commitment to inclusive progress.
Chaired throughout by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, the two-day engagement brought together federal and state leaders, development partners, and private-sector stakeholders to advance the shared objective of delivering inclusive economic growth and sustainable national development under the Renewed Hope National Development Plan 2026–2030. I had the honour of being present and actively participating across the full duration of the conference proceedings.
My contribution, delivered during the panel session on inter-state collaboration, emphasised the urgency of coordinated regional infrastructure, shared economic planning, and strengthened cooperation among states as essential pathways to balanced national prosperity. Nigeria’s development trajectory must be anchored on partnership across regions and institutions so that growth is not only achieved, but broadly experienced by our citizens.
The outcomes of the conference reinforce our collective resolve to move decisively from dialogue to implementation, ensuring measurable improvements in livelihoods across every part of the federation. The Ministry of Regional Development remains fully committed to translating this shared vision into tangible progress for the Nigerian people.
